Our Story
The journey of Pockett began with a simple observation and a powerful question: What if we could create a meaningful alternative to screens for children?
We're a team of designers and engineers united by a common goal: creating technology that serves children's development rather than distracting from it.
Our Mission
To create technology that enhances childhood rather than replacing it, fostering curiosity, creativity, and connection in a screen-free environment.

The Beginning
Hi, I'm Yash, one of the co-founders of Toonbox. This isn't just a company for us' it's a mission that's deeply personal. It all started with my niece, a bright, curious little boy who, like so many kids today, was spending more and more time glued to screens. At first, it seemed harmless—just a way to keep him entertained while the adults were busy. But over time, we noticed something was off. His attention span was shorter, his creativity seemed stifled, and he was becoming more dependent on screens for entertainment and his tantrums spiked when screens were taken away.
My sister isn't a working parent, but even with her at home, the struggle was real. "I want to engage him," she told me, "but I can't compete with algorithms designed to hook his attention. And I'm terrified of what he might stumble upon online." Her words hit me hard. She wanted a better solution, but there wasn't one—at least not in India.
This got me thinking about my own childhood. I grew up in a world where stories, songs, and poems were passed down from grandparents, parents, and friends. I remember sitting wide-eyed, completely engrossed in the tales of kings, magical forests, and brave heroes. There was TV and smartphone but those aren't overshadowing the power of listening and imagination. Those moments shaped me in ways I didn't fully understand until much later.

Why Audio?
Today, things are different. Parents are busier than ever, and the art of storytelling and imagination is fading. Kids are growing up in a world where screens are their primary source of entertainment and content based learning. And while technology has its benefits, the downsides are hard to ignore for our young kids—delayed development, exposure to inappropriate content, and a lack of meaningful engagement.
That's when I realized: what if we could bring back the magic of audio-based learning and entertainment? What if we could create a device that was safe, fun, and educational—a companion that kids could call their own, without relying on screens or need of their parents?
I shared this idea with my college friend, Prakhar, during a late-night conversation in our hostel room at IIT Roorkee. We talked about the problem, the potential solutions, and the impact we could have. That night, Toonbox was born.

Today and Beyond
We just don't want to be known as a byproduct of a great hardware and software, but also as an iconic content powerhouse.
Down the line, we want our content to be so good that kids become our brand ambassadors to their parents. Acting as a strong compulsive force that is too good to be ignored.
